Leavin' on a jetplane...

I'm leaving tonight for Ethiopia! Departing from Logan at 7:05pm, going through Amsterdam and arriving in Addis Ababa at 10:50pm tomorrow! Hopefully I didn't forget anything, but I'm pretty sure I overpacked. I will be in Ethiopia until Saturday, April 3. I will post as often as the internet connectivity allows. See you in a month!

What will I be doing in Ethiopia?

I will spend one month in Ethiopia working on MSH's HIV & AIDS Care and Support Program. I will be working on a case study to document the impact of the National Network of Positive Women Ethiopians (NNPWE). The overarching goal of the Network is to make a genuine contribution to mitigate the multifaceted effects of HIV/AIDS through greater and meaningful involvement of women living with HIV/AIDS and their Associations. From a long-term perspective, the Network has set two interlinked and broader objectives to pursue: increase the contribution of PLWHA Associations to the National and Regional efforts of HIV/AIDS prevention/control, care, treatment and support of the infected and affected; and build the capacity of positive women and their associations to deal with the impacts of HIV/AIDS and access to different services.
